This is our farm.
Where we are and what we do…
Round Mountain Farm was originally called Mock Orange Farms and was located in Randleman, NC, a collaboration between two families. In 2019, we relocated to the small community of Ophir, 15 miles from the city of Troy, in the northern part of Montgomery County. Surrounded by the Uwharrie Mountain range and located near the Uwharrie National Forest, Round Mountain Farm practices sustainable agriculture within a regenerative model. Round Mountain Farm is committed to producing the highest quality sustainably raised pastured poultry possible.
Our pasture-raised broilers arrive on our farm as day-old chicks. They spend the first three weeks of their lives in our brooder house, where they have fresh, clean bedding, non-GMO starter feed, clean water, and warmth. After 3 weeks in the brooder house, our birds are then transitioned to pasture. The birds spend the next 5 - 6 weeks in moveable, bottomless coops where they can scratch, feed, and breathe fresh air. The coops are moved daily to a fresh batch of greens and bugs for the chickens to devour. At roughly 8 - 9 weeks, our birds are humanely harvested, processed, and packaged on-site to ensure quality at every step.

Who we are…
Round Mountain Farm is owned and operated by Casey and Rebecca Harris. Casey and Rebecca are parents to three incredible children, Teely, Tessa, and Bear. All are natives of Montgomery County. Six years ago, we decided to commit to raising our own food. After reading Pastured Poultry Profits by Joel Salatin, we were hooked on the idea of raising pastured poultry as a healthy food source for our family. Along with Casey & Meka Lamb, family friends, we began our journey.
Over the years, our business has steadily grown by word of mouth. We are eager to add other enterprises to our farm, such as pastured lamb lamb, pastured pork, and pastured eggs. No matter what other value-added components we add to our farm, our center-piece will always be pastured poultry. As our commitment to producing sustainably-raised meats and the highest- quality food possible continues to grow, we hope to influence as many people as possible to begin to think about their food and how it is raised. We know that in order to achieve this lofty goal, we will always be the “First Customer” that we sell to, so we may never lose sight of what matters most…..Quality. We look forward to building a relationship to our future customers, and we are thankful for the relationships we have built with our current customers.
